The Olga’s Fabric Lane Story

Olga immigrated to Toronto from Lithuania in 1951 and began working as a trained seamstress, creating visions of beauty for exclusive clientele.

The family moved to Calgary in 1976 and Olga fulfilled a lifelong dream when she was finally able to open her own fabric store, accommodating a very diverse range of sewers.

Olga’s daughter, Ingrid, graduated with a fashion arts degree in Toronto and joined the family business in 1979. Ingrid is now running the business and has turned the shop into a kaleidoscope of imported laces, fabric and trims that cater to dressmakers, designers and discerning home sewers.
